Basic 7: Pick the Right Delivery Method for your Report

Reports are everywhere in business and are in full range from a simple memo report to a complex multidimensional plan.  Here is information to help you expand your knowledge on Business Reporting.

  1. A memo can be a report too.
  2. They need to be absolutely gorgeous!  Beauty matters.  The more attractive it is, the more you are to have your reader read it.
  3. The introduction is critical.  Be SURE you do it well!
  4. Answer the questions the audience wants to know.
  5. Organize it to the reader – not the way you want it, but they way you think the audience wants it.
  6. Consider your delivery method…Word?  Excel?  Meeting?  Presentation?  Combination?
  7. Be concise.
  8. Be complete – say all that needs to be said and nothing more.
  9. Oh..did I say…organization?

There are so so very many differing styles of reports.  Take a look at all that Word delivers to you as templates.  It’s helpful to expand your mind to all the available ways you can create an attractive document.
